Professional Engineering ActivitiesResearch Leader: At McMaster University since 1970, I planned and supervised the creation of a specialized laboratory for research and industrial development in electric power and related areas. I have supervised over 20 post graduate students at the masters and doctoral level and published 75 technical papers in scholarly journals and conference proceedings. Educator: I have taught courses in electrical machines and electric power systems, at both the undergraduate and post-graduate level for over 30 years. Initially at the University of Toronto and then at McMaster University (in Hamilton - both in Ontario, Canada), and one term at the University of Sydney in New South Wales in Australia. Since 1984 I have developed computer programs for instructional purposes related to the courses I taught. Education: I hold three degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto. For my B.A.Sc. thesis I studied "Electric Power Metering", for my M.A.Sc. thesis - "Non-linear Circuit Analysis", and for my Ph.D. thesis - "Electric Melting Furnaces".
