I was born in Oxford, England, am a direct descendant of John Alden of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and I lived in South Australia before moving to Toronto, Canada. After completing my education as an electrical engineer, I elected a career being a university professor and consultant, moved to Dundas, Ontario, then to Mississauga, Ontario - where I currently reside. I retired from adademic life in 2001 and continued my professional career under the company name "Bob Alden Technologies", and as an IEEE volunteer. My personal interests include travel, photography, gardening, baseball and labrador retrievers - in addition to my interest in helping people to understand and use the internet.
